We are licensed agents who have been in business since 1989. Our office is located in Tempe, AZ. Our specialty is assisting seniors in navigating through the difficult Medicare enrollment process.
We work with the nation's leading carriers to find the lowest rates and the best plans to fit your needs. Our efforts allow you to quickly and easily compare Medicare Supplement rates from various insurance providers. Plus, we'll help you enroll in the plan you select, and check in with you periodically to ensure it is still working for you.

Meet Our Team
Larry E. Gustafson - CEO
Larry graduated from Illinois State University in 1983 with a BS in Finance. He worked as a Mortgage broker until 1989 when he started his own individual health insurance brokerage agency. Since then he has completed a MBA at Arizona State University and held numerous professional designations including Registered Health Underwriter and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant.
He was President of the Arizona Association of Health Underwriters in 1995 and held numerous other chair positions in that organization. With over 35 years’ experience as a small business owner, Larry has built his company with his reputation, and has never believed in the mass marketing of insurance products. Each and every customer is important to him, and he has always believed in the motto that if you take care of your clients, they will take care of you. Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, Larry E. Gustafson, Inc. has become “Senior Market Exclusive,” so we pride ourselves on being a specialized agency bringing our Medicare-eligible customers top quality service.
Julie Matthaeus - Licensed Agent/Partner
As co-owner of Larry E. Gustafson, Inc., Julie brings over 25 years experience in the Health Insurance industry. She attended Arizona State University, and began her career in the individual health insurance market as a licensed agent in 1995 with our agency. She specializes in Medicare, as well as the Under 65 market, Short Term and Travel insurance.
Julie has a strong passion for building relationships with her clients and takes great interest in their and their families' well-being. She looks forward to serving your needs.
Tim Ferguson - Licensed Agent
With over 15 years of customer service and sales experience Tim has excelled in taking care of his clients and building strong long-lasting relationships. He attended Illinois State University, managed a top door to door sales company, and garnered strong sales experience in both the auto and property management industries in the Scottsdale and Tempe area since 2017. Tim joined Larry E. Gustafson, Inc. in 2023 and is a fully licensed Life and Health insurance agent. He specializes in Medicare and Dental insurance and looks forward to working with our clients to ensure their insurance needs are met.
Lisa Breiner - Agency Manager
With three decades of project/account management experience, Lisa has worked in the entertainment/media industry for companies including Warner Brothers Records, The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (The GRAMMY® Awards), The Arizona Republic, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, and artist management for nationally acclaimed recording artists. She is the Agency Manager for Larry E. Gustafson, Inc. and a licensed Health/Life insurance agent.
